Lynn P. [Purdy] Hume, 71, a lifelong resident of Sheridan, passed away on Sept. 28, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Aug. 28, 1948 to the late Harold “Doc” and Ruby (Perigo) Purdy in Lebanon, Ind.
Mrs. Hume was a graduate of Sheridan High School’s Class of 1966. While she was in high school, she met her husband, Larry Karl Hume. They were married on March 20, 1966 and have been at each other’s side for 53 years.
Mrs. Hume enjoyed working the crossword puzzle each morning with her coffee. She tended to her flower gardens each spring, then watched the gardens flourish from her gazebo throughout the summer months. Her favorite pastimes were baking and cooking for her family and friends. She loved to bake for her family just as much as they enjoyed savoring her treats. Lynn earned her career as a letter carrier.
Survivors include her loving husband, Larry, as well as their three children; Perry (Cheri) Hume, Lana Hume, and Tina (Brett) Tillison.
Mrs. Hume loved visiting and playing with grandchildren and great grandchildren. She looked forward to each visit. She was a proud mammaw to Brent (Lee) Hume, Kya Marsh, Tyler Hume, Shey Tillison and Jed Tillison. Additional survivors include her great grandchildren; Harrison, Lincoln, and Peyton Hume. She was a loving sister to Dick (Carol) Purdy and Lonna (Phil) Inskeep, along with sister, Myra (Dan) McVey, preceding Lynn in death.
