Nathan Thomas Purdue, 35, Lapel, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019 at Community Hospital of Anderson following a brief illness. He was born on Nov. 26, 1983 in Anderson to Jeffrey Thomas and Vicky Lynn (Cox) Purdue.
Nathan was graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 2002.
He farmed with his parents.
Nathan loved being a father; enjoyed cooking, especially on the grill and smoker. He was very fond of photographing sunsets and storms, animals, and farming. He loved being around water and outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Megan Dowden; one daughter who he adored, Lauxley; a step-son, Elijah McDole; his parents; two sisters, Nikki Navalo and Amanda Schafer; his maternal grandparents, Keith and Alice Cox; his paternal grandparents, Melvin and Charlsie Purdue; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St. in Lapel with Pastor Tad Finch officiating. Burial will follow in Grovelawn Cemetery, in Pendleton.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
