FISHERS - After getting off to hot start this season with two road wins, the Hamilton Southeastern softball team (2-1) stumbled against in its home opener.

The Royals were shutout by the Avon Orioles 4-0 in Fishers on Tuesday night.

HSE struggled at the plate only managing two hits on the night. Jenny Turock (1-for-1) and Katelyn Shonborn (1-for-3) were the only Royals to record hits. HSE struck out at the plate on five occasions.

The Orioles were obviously tough defensively. They did their damage offensively in the second and sixth innings scoring two runs in each.

Alexis Macha pitched a little over five innings for HSE with Jaylah Guilliam going the rest of the way. Macha finished with two strikeouts and Guilliam added one more. Avon totaled eight hits for the game.
