Noblesville and Westfield tied for third place in the HCC after Westfield defeated Brownsburg Saturday. Noblesville lost their last game against Zionsville to finish 3-3 and Westfield was in a position to either fall to fifth place or finish in third. Hamilton Southeastern sealed a second place after they lost to Zionsville Saturday, while Zionsville has one game left. They face Brownsburg Friday which will likely result in a conference championship for Zionsville which would be their first at least since 2000.

Sheridan sealed a third place at the HHC tournament last week, regaining one of their main scores in Brittany Welch. She returned Jan. 21 to help the Blackhawks defeat Eastern 45-33 in the third-place game. Carroll (Flora) won the tournament a game later with a 43-30 win over Tri-Central. This is their first title since 2-15. Both were undefeated in their division of the conference and Carroll came out on top.

Hoosier Conference

Hamilton Heights finished in fourth place in the Hoosier Conference tournament after they took a 39-28 loss to Lafayette Central Catholic Jan. 20. The championship game was a nail-biter between West Lafayette and Northwestern. West Lafayette won two years in a row after a 50-49 win over now-No. 18 Northwestern.

The Guerin Catholic girls basketball team finished off their conference schedule this past weekend against Roncalli, who they had also played their second game of the season. Roncalli won 66-23 to seal their undefeated 6-0 record in the conference and clinch the inaugural title. There is one more conference game left between Brebeuf Jesuit and Bishop Chatard. If Chatard loses, they will tie with Guerin for third place with a 1-5 record. Brebeuf and Guerin split games against each other.

The MIC title is sealed by North Central, who last shared a title in 2008. They went undefeated at 6-0 in the conference. Carmel has a chance to tie for third, depending on their Friday game against Ben Davis. The Greyhounds are currently tied for fourth place at 3-3. Their three losses came against North Central, Lawrence North and Pike. Center Grove and Lawrence North are also in fourth and play a game against each other Friday. Thus, Ben Davis has a chance to be tied for second and Carmel, Center Grove and Lawrence North has a chance to be tied for third if Ben Davis loses. Warren Central will finish seventh no matter their result against North Central Friday.

University placed third in the Pioneer Conference tournament last week. Their 56-40 win over Central Christian wrapped the finish. Their loss in the east division came against Liberty Christian 55-28. They were second in the east which sent them to the third/fourth-place game. Attucks won the tournament with a 64-41 win over Liberty Christian for their third year in a row. Shortridge won 43-41 last night for ninth place.
