The Golden Eagles girls soccer team get this week's honor as they returned to conference play vs Chatard Tuesday night following a long weekend off, earning the 7-0 victory.

Play was in favor of GCWS the first half, with fans seeing the Golden Eagles unload eight shots on the goal. The team's senior co-captain got the scoring going in the 23rd minute off an assist from an Anna Heck corner kick. Sophomore Kenna Corley added to the first half tally eight minutes later off an assist from freshman Quincy McMahon.

Guerin struck three times in the first 10 minutes of the second period with goals from Elle Vuotto, Cassidy Lindley, and Dani Mason. Vuotto added her third in the 58′ and McMahon added a last tally a minute later.

Goalkeepers Claire Gavin and Olivia Labus were credited with the shutout as the Golden Eagles outscored Chatard 7-0.

The girls are currently 6-1 on the season and play next on Saturday at home against Lafayette Central Catholic for Cancer Awareness Night.
