The Carmel girls basketball team swept past MIC foe Ben Davis Friday with a 59-47 victory. Three Greyhounds led the team with double figures - Blake Smith (16), Tomi Taiwo (15) and Amy Dilk (12).

They sprinted ahead in the first quarter 19-11, after which the only quarter Ben Davis won was the third, 17-15. Dilk was all over the place for Carmel, tacking on four steals, nine assists and eight rebounds to her 12 points.

This cemented Carmel's third-place finish in the conference, tied with Ben Davis and Lawrence North. North Central kept their undefeated MIC record with a win over Lawrence North and are MIC champions.

Carmel finishes their season 19-3 and play Fishers Jan. 31 in sectionals. Also of note, the JV team finished their season 22-0, which is the first time in school history.
