The Carmel versus Pike girls basketball game was a barn burner at its best. Pike is ranked No. 5 and needed an upset over No. 2 Carmel to stay in second place in the MIC. Carmel fell to sixth in the conference after a 46-42 loss.

The game was even throughout. Pike had a two-point advantage at half and hit two more than Carmel in the final quarter.

Those two shots were all it took.

Carmel was handed its third loss of the season. Tomi Taiwo led the team with 13 points, Olivia Christy finished with 11 points.

Carmel (17-3, 3-3) will head to Indianapolis Cathedral Tuesday in their second to last game of the regular season.
