AVON - Hamilton Southeastern took the lead late in the first game of a double header against Avon, Saturday, earning a 3-2 victory.

HSE took an early lead in the second inning on an error that scored two runs.

In the bottom of the third inning, Avon tied things up at two.

The game was tied at two with HSE batting in the top of the fifth when there was an error, scoring one run.

Royals pitchers struck out nine and both runs were unearned. Owen Callaghan earned the win for Hamilton Southeastern, pitching five innings, giving up four hits, and striking out seven. Dalton Hutchinson recorded the last six outs to earn the save.

Trenton Schneider led the Royals with two hits including a stand-up double. Tyler Sivak and Zach Boyle both each drove in one run.

In the second game, HSE grabbed an early lead on its way to a 7-1 victory over Avon on Saturday.

HSE scored on a double by Brock Burns, a single by Carter Lohman, and a double by Jacob Daftari in the first inning.

Lohman earned the win. He threw five and two-thirds innings, allowing one run, three hits, striking out six, and walking one.

The Royals had ten hits in the game. Brock Burns, Jack Lang, and Jacob Daftari each collected multiple hits and each drove in two runs.

The final game of the Avon series will be played 6 p.m. today
