ARCADIA - After a sluggish performance on Thursday night, the Hamilton Heights softball team bounced back with a solid performance defeating Lapel 8-6 at home on Friday night.

"We were a different team tonight," head coach Landi Lockwood said after the game. "We showed up to play and had a purpose to our game."

Heights got the victory, but the Huskies trailed 6-1 after three innings. Heights responded with three runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth to seal its first win of the season.

"Several girls had a good night at the plate with Shelby Wills leading the way," Lockwood said.

Wills went 3-for-4 and led the team with three RBIs. Wills, Claire Schildmeier, Mickey Stupp and Baileigh Runner all finished with multiple hits.

Adyson Baber did a really nice job on the mound pitching a complete seven-inning game. Baber got the win and finished with three strikeouts.

Heights (1-2) next plays at home against Anderson 5 p.m. April 7.
