The Huskies fell to the Western Panthers 6-4 on a very hot and humid early game on Thursday. The Huskies found themselves in an early deficit 2-0 in the first 12 minutes but they fought back to tie 2-2 with 14 minutes to go. Western scored on a long punt that bounced over the defense and goalie to put them up 3-2 at half in the last minute of the first half.

In the second half the Huskies bounced out to tie it 3-3, but the Panthers answered three minutes later to go up by one. Then the Huskies scored with 14 minutes remaining to tie 4-4. However the panthers would score one minute later to go up 5-4 and while the Huskies were pushing to tie the Panthers countered to set the final score at 6-4. The Huskies could never get anything going with possession.

"It was a tough fought battle but just wasn't executed. Player of the game goes to Donovan Trew for a great effort and hard work while still working on his team strategy," said Coach Derrick Dean.
