The Huskies varsity boys soccer team beat Northwestern 3-2 Thursday night. The Huskies came out relaxed, and the Tigers converted on a corner three minutes into the game. The Huskies didn't give up and started to possess the game moving the ball very well.

With 14 minutes to go in the half, freshman Caleb Stuart found his junior brother Jackson Stuart for a goal to tie. However the Tigers countered back and were awarded a PK three minutes later, which they converted.

Once again the Huskies countered just two minutes after their PK to score when Logan Fakes found Drew Tomaszewski to tie the game at half 2-2. The Huskies outshot the Tigers 9-2 in the first half.

In the second half the Huskies pressured and took great looks at the goal out shooting the Tigers 9-5 in the second half. The Huskies goalie was taken out with the Tigers receiving a yellow with 55 seconds remaining.

On the restart the Huskies get the ball to Fakes who was taken out in the box and Josh Thorpe converted the PK with 45 seconds remaining to win 3-2.

"Player of the game could go to almost any of the Huskies," said head coach Derrick Dean. "However Jackson Stuart receives it with his smart control and poise in the entire game."
