The Noblesville Miller softball team started its season with an emphatic win on Tuesday night. The Millers beat Western Boone at home by a score of 14-0.

Noblesville was dominant all night on the mound and at the plate.

Miller pitchers Brooke Herron and Taylor Sjoholm combined to throw a one-hit shutout. Herron earned the win giving up no runs and no hits, while striking out three in three innings of work.

Noblesville recorded 14 hits in the game with Abby Brown, Bri Tragesser and Herron each tallying multiple hits.

The Millers scored the bulk of their runs in the first three innings scoring four in the first, four in the second and five in the third.

The first inning featured a double by Brooke Herron and a home run by Julia Furiak. Brooke Rundle and Tragesser recorded key hits in the high-scoring third inning.

The lone bright spot for Western Boone came in the fourth inning when Alayna Raby connected on a base hit.

Game two on the schedule for Noblesville comes 6 p.m. Tuesday with a home date against Fishers.
