Midwest Event Services, an Hamilton County not-for-profit organization, is hosting a triathlon this Saturday, September 30, and we are still in need of volunteers to help at Morse Park & Beach or other various locations on the course. This is our biggest undertaking of the year, and we are still about 40 volunteers short to make this event successful. The proceeds from The Noblesville Triathlon benefit the both the Friends of Hamilton County Parks and the Friends of Central Pool.

This is a half-distance triathlon, scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2017, from 5am-3pm, at Morse Park and Beach. This triathlon starts with a 1.2 mile swim, from the beach, around "Party Island" and back (lifeguards are needed, and also people comfortable with kayaks), followed by a 56 mile bike through northern Hamilton County, returning to Morse Park for a 13.1 mile mini-marathon. We have 200 athletes signed up for this event and are currently still in need of approximately 35-50 volunteers to help with this not-for-profit Noblesville Triathlon.

If you have a group of individuals, or any student organizations, youth groups, or sporting teams in need of service hours, or if you have clubs looking for a quick fundraising opportunity, we have opportunities for both. As this is a not-for-profit community event, we can sign their service hour cards or if one of your student organizations or teams is looking for some fundraising, we will be happy to donate $150 to their qualified student organization for every 10 volunteers they provide (parents and students) - by qualified, this is typically defined by the teacher, club sponsor or coach as to if they receive service hours or a donation.

We have the following positions still available:

1) 2 water tables on the bike course from 9am-1pm. We need at least 1 adult 18 or older at these locations to be the captain, preferably a parent. These water tables will hand off water and Gatorade bottles to athletes as they ride by on their bike, and additionally will pick up empty, discarded bottles for trash. We will have a Pink Pot Port-o-Let at these locations, but volunteers should plan on bringing a snack or drinks. We will attempt to bring pizza lunch to these locations. These are great opportunities for groups of students.

A) Hinkle Creek Water table - 225th Street & Elm St. (near 226th & Deming)

B) Beck's Hybrids Water Table - Gwinn & 276th Street

2) 3 water tables on the run course from 10am-3pm. We need at least 1 adult 18 or older at these locations to be the captain, preferably a parent. These water tables will hand off water and Gatorade cups to athletes as they run by, and additionally will pick up empty, discarded cups for trash. We will have a Pink Pot Port-o-Let at 2 of these locations (the 3rd location is about 500 yards from one of the locations with one), but volunteers should plan on bringing a snack or drinks. We will attempt to bring pizza lunch to these locations. These are great opportunities for groups of students.

A) Hague Road Water table - Hague Road & Pacific Summit (near Lakeview and Hague)

B) Three Way Split Water Table - Over bridge in Hwy 38 & Hague Nature Preserve

C) Transition Water Table - at Morse Park - these volunteers will also help out in the transition and finish area if needed.

3) We have approximately 10 intersections on the bike course and 5 on the run course requiring at least 2 volunteers apiece.

A) Bike course Intersections need 2 volunteers apiece and to be manned approximately 8AM-1PM

B) Run course intersections need approximately 10am-3pm.
