FHD offers Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for ages 5 to 11

The Fishers Health Department announced that the free pediatric COVID-19 vaccine is now available at the Fishers Mass Vaccination Clinic (12520 E. 116th Street, Fishers, IN 46037) after Tuesday’s CDC authorization.

Parents who wish to schedule an appointment for their child to receive the vaccine can do so at, by calling 2-1-1, or the Fishers COVID Hotline at 317-595-3211. Walk-in vaccinations are available, but appointments are highly encouraged. A parent or guardian must provide consent, and children under 16 must be accompanied to the vaccination appointment by an adult.

Pediatric vaccine supplies may be limited initially as shipments arrive on a staggered basis. Individuals are encouraged to make an appointment or call ahead to ensure that a site has vaccine available prior to visiting the location.

At this time, the Pfizer vaccine is the only approved COVID-19 vaccine for ages five to 11 and is administered as a two-dose primary series, three weeks apart, but is a lower dose (10 micrograms) than that used for individuals 12 years of age and older (30 micrograms).
