Noblesville Township Trustee Tom Kenley (from left) annually joins Beta Epsilon chapter of Tri Kappa members Mary Jane Polsgrove and Anita Beck to kick off the Red Stocking Fund campaign, in its 16th year in Noblesville, asking people to donate money for students of the Noblesville community who are less fortunate.

The 16th annual Tri Kappa Red Stocking Fund campaign begins this week, just as the last of the money raised last year is being used by the Noblesville Township Trustees Office and schools. Last year over $17,500 was raised, to be used throughout the year for the students and families of the Noblesville community who are less fortunate. In the last 16 years, over $191,500.00 has been raised to support this community fundraiser. Each year there is a need that many of us don’t experience. Many families have been stretched to the limit of their finances. We hope you will listen to your heart and consider a donation.

Beta Epsilon Chapter of Tri Kappa of Noblesville and the The Times newspaper have once again joined forces to promote this Red Stocking Fund. These monies ensure the children of Noblesville have shoes, clothing, school supplies, and shelter, as well as medicines and other necessities as deemed necessary. Tri Kappa is pleased to provide this source of funds for Noblesville Schools to use at their discretion along with the Noblesville Township Trustee providing a single mom with her mortgage, electricity, and water bills this year, along with others.

The Times once again has agreed to partner with Tri Kappa in this campaign by providing a donation form once a week in the newspaper asking for readers to respond. Your donation will give you an opportunity to submit a greeting in the paper to wish someone a Merry Christmas, honor a loved one or celebrate your family. The amount donated is not published and any amount is certainly appreciated. A donation form can be found in today’s paper giving everyone a chance to become involved with this worthwhile project.

“This assistance would not be possible without The Times and the cooperation of the Noblesville Township Trustees Office,” Mary Jane Polsgrove, Red Stocking Fund Chairman, said. “This community has a servant heart and is always willing to help where needed….and it is fun for people to see their names in the newspaper.”

Donations will be collected today through Christmas. Checks may be made payable to the Red Stocking Fund and mailed to Noblesville Red Stocking Fund, P.O. Box 162, Noblesville, Indiana, 46061.

Tri Kappa is a state wide philanthropic sorority which brings women into close, unselfish relationship for the promotion of charity, culture, and education. The Beta Epsilon Chapter of Tri Kappa is one of over 140 chapters throughout Indiana serving the needs of others in many ways. The Red Stocking Fund is just one of the fundraisers in which the local chapter donates their time. Local members make and sell cheeseballs, sell pecans, make Easter eggs and sell them, as well as monthly service projects. All proceeds are distributed to help others in our wonderful community.
