Westfield welcomes new Director of Communications

Westfield Mayor Andy Cook has announced that Chris Proffitt has been named Director of Communications for the city.

A veteran Indianapolis TV journalist, Proffitt also served in state government as Director of Communications for the Indiana Attorney General’s office. In announcing the appointment, Mayor Cook said, “We are pleased to have Chris lead our communications team. His knowledge of Westfield coupled with his experience and expertise will serve our city well.”

Proffitt previously worked as an anchor and reporter for 21 years for WTHR and five years for WRTV. He is a nine-time Emmy Award winner, a National Edward R. Murrow Awards first-place recipient and winner of the prestigious National Headliner Award for excellence in journalism.

“I’m honored to join the City of Westfield and the talented people who work honorably each day to serve its citizens,” Proffitt said.
