Fishers Disability Awareness Month Kickoff Event

The annual celebration of Fishers March Disability Awareness Month begins Wednesday, March 1 with a Kickoff Event and the 2023 Accessibility and Inclusion Awards Presentation at 8:30 a.m. at the Launch Fishers Huston Theater (12175 Visionary Way, Fishers). Join Mayor Scott Fadness and the Fishers Advisory Committee on Disability for this special event, including a keynote from Kelly Hartman, Co-Chair of the Fishers Advisory Council on Disability and Fishers resident. The event will also be live-streamed on the Fishers Magazine Facebook page.

The month-long celebration, hosted by the Fishers Advisory Committee on Disability Fishers Advisory Committee on Disability and presented by Old National Bank, features a series of special events and initiatives throughout the city. This year’s theme, Building Our Future Together, includes partners from around Hamilton County to champion disability inclusion in Fishers and beyond.

The celebration also includes the return of the Ally campaign, which invites residents to become advocates for disability inclusion. Free virtual toolkits, available at fishers.in.us/DisabilityAwareness, include information on how to be an Ally; a language guide and FAQ; social media graphics; Zoom backgrounds; and an Ally pledge.
