Arent Fox, LLP, the Washington D.C.-based law firm filing rails-to-trails cases on behalf of land owners along the Nickel Plate Railroad, has scheduled a town hall meeting noon Feb. 8, at the Marriott Courtyard, 17863 Foundation Drive, Noblesville.
Attorney Lindsay Brinton will discuss be holding additional town hall meetings on February 7-8, to discuss the case. The cases involving the federal government taking land to convert the rail line into a public recreational trail. The railroad segment is roughly 9 miles long in Hamilton County.
Arent Fox, LLP has recovered almost $1 Million for other landowners in Martin and Lawrence County in 2017.
Brinton and her colleagues represent more than 1,000 landowners in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Oregon, South Carolina, New York, Missouri, and Tennessee who are pursuing Fifth Amendment takings claims against the federal government.
