A Kentucky man was arrested earlier today after being pulled over by an Indiana State Trooper for speeding. This morning Trooper Eric Patterson was patrolling I-69 in Hamilton County near 96th Street when he noticed a vehicle allegedly doing 86 mile per hour in a 65 miles per hour zone. Patterson pulled the vehicle over and subsequently discovered the driver, 25 year old Corvonte Lynum of Louisville Kentucky, had an active arrest warrant for attempted murder, along with other open warrants out of Kentucky.
A search of the vehicle revealed two loaded handguns leading to preliminary charges in Hamilton County of possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. Lynum was transported to the Hamilton County Jail where he will await extradition to Kentucky.
The preliminary charges in Hamilton County are merely accusations, actual charges will be determined by the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office. All suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
