Mildred Olive Plumlee, age 93, of Tipton, died Jan. 29, 2018, at I.U. Tipton Hospital.
She was born Jan. 27, 1925, at Tipton, to Benjamin Franklin and Bessie Mae (Johnson) McGill.
She graduated from Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1944. She then married Wayford Plumlee and became a wife and homemaker, a role she enjoyed.
Mrs. Plumlee was a member of Arcadia Christian Church. Several years ago she started a pen pals group of women and continued writing until her demise. This led to her collecting and trading post cards with others. Mrs. Plumlee also greatly enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Nita Arlene (Michael) Kuhns of Summertown, Tenn.; a brother, Keith (Karleen) McGill of Indianapolis; grandchildren: Mark Quigley, Alex Plumlee, Cassie Hall, Jacob Netherton, and Caleb Boman, plus seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Rex Plumlee; sister, Ruth "Tootie" McGill; brothers, Jerry McGill and Dean McGill; and a grandson, Joshua Netherton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero, IN 46034 with visitation scheduled from 11 a.m. until time of the services. Pastor Jacob Netherton will officiate. Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery.
