Celebrate from ‘Pie Day-to-Pi Day’ and win a Pie-oneer T-Shirt
Be a Pie-oneer! Blaze the Hoosier Pie Trail™ from ‘Pie Day-to-Pi Day’ with the Indiana Culinary Trails Passport. Starting on National Jan. 23 (National Pie Day) and running through the month of February (National Pie Month) to March 14 (Pi Day).
“While sugar cream pie is considered the unofficial state pie, Hoosier bakers enjoy making a wide variety of pies in their kitchens,” said Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch. “Pie Day-to-Pi Day is a great opportunity to taste some of the best pies in Indiana.”
Indiana Foodways Alliance has 21 culinary trails, and all of them, including the Hoosier Pie Trail™, can be found on the Indiana Culinary Trails Passport. All you need to do is sign up online and check in with your smartphone.
“Anyone who checks in to two restaurants on the Hoosier Pie Trail from ‘Pie Day-to-Pi Day’ will earn a custom Pie-oneer T-shirt from Mrs. Wick’s Pies,” said Elaine Bedel, Secretary and CEO of the Indiana Destination Development Corporation. “One of those lucky recipients will win pie for a year (one per month) from Mrs. Wick’s Pie as well as a VIP tour of their Winchester factory.”
“We are excited for our Hoosier Pie Trail™ members and this ‘Pie Day-to-Pi Day’ promotion,” said Lindsey Skeen, IFA Executive Director. “The passport is free and designed to encourage people to eat at locally-owned restaurants and businesses.”
