Mary Anne Ogle, age 96, of Sheridan, passed away on Sat. evening, Jan. 22, 2022, at Wellbrooke of Westfield.
Born Nov. 7, 1925 in Clinton County, Ind,, she was the daughter of the late David and Ethel (Smith) Lecklitner.
Mrs. Ogle was a 1943 graduate of Sheridan High School. She was an active member of the Sheridan First United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Women’s Circle. She was also a member of the Sherettes Home Ec. Club and enjoyed playing cards with her husband at Euchre Club.
Mrs. Ogle was a dedicated farm wife, assisting her husband with all their farming responsibilities – that was, until their son Aaron came along. It was then that she decided to retire from her farming duties and take on the role of professional homemaker and mother. Taking care of her growing family and home were the most important priorities in her life.
Survivors include her son, Aaron David Ogle (Cindy) of Sheridan; daughter, Karen Elizabeth Arthur of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Michael Arthur (Leeann) of Dunkirk, Maryland, Rebecca Arthur-Kaverman (Steve) of West Lafayette, Maggie Ogle-Herrington (Robert) of Noblesville and Adam Ogle (Tamara) of Cutler, Indiana; 10 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Alice Lecklitner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David Lecklitner and Don Lecklitner; son-in-law, Gerald Arthur; and by her loving husband, David Paul Ogle on Oct. 27, 2002. He and Mrs. Ogle were married on Aug. 25, 1945.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sat., Jan. 29, 2022, at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th Street, Sheridan, with Visitation scheduled from 11 a.m. until the time of Service.
Burial will follow at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan, Indiana. Pastor John Meunier will be officiating. The family requests that Memorial Contributions be presented to the Sheridan First United Methodist Church, 207 E. 2nd Street, Sheridan, Ind. 46069.
