City of Fishers Celebrates Keep Fishers Beautiful During April Sustainability Month

Keep Fishers Beautiful (KFB) returns next month to bring together residents, homeowner’s associations, local businesses and organizations to support the vibrancy of the Fishers community.

The City of Fishers’ monthlong celebration includes volunteer opportunities at Fishers Parks, including an invasive species pull at Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve and tree planting at the Fishers AgriPark; sustainability resources for residents; and community stories and blogs on ThisIsFishers.com.

The 2022 Keep Fishers Beautiful lineup includes:

  1. Ambassador House at Heritage Park Mulch Spread
    • Saturday, April 9 | 9 to 11 a.m. | The Historic Ambassador House & Heritage Gardens (10598 Eller Rd., Fishers) | Great for individuals, families, and groups
    • Join the Keep Fishers Beautiful Initiative and help spread mulch at the park. All ages are welcome, but children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. Sign up at ThisIsFishers.com/KFB.
  2. Cyntheanne Park Soil Spread – FULL
    • Saturday, April 9 | 10 a.m. to noon | Cyntheanne Park (12383 Cyntheanne Rd., Fishers) | Great for individuals
    • Volunteers will help get the Fishers Parks community gardens in tip-top shape by spreading soil at the garden plots. This opportunity is currently full. Sign up for the waitlist at ThisIsFishers.com/KFB.
  3. Launch Fishers Mulch Spread
    • Saturday, April 16 | 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. | Launch Fishers (12175 Visionary Way, Fishers) | Great for individuals
    • Lend a hand and help spread mulch throughout Launch Fishers. All ages are welcome, but children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. Space is limited. Sign up at ThisIsFishers.com/KFB.
  4. Billericay Park Mulch Spread
    • Saturday, April 23 | 9 to 11 a.m. | Billiercay Park (12690 Promise Rd., Fishers) | Great for individuals
    • Beautify the park by spreading mulch throughout the area. All ages are welcome, but children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. Space is limited. Sign up at ThisIsFishers.com/KFB.
  5. Fishers AgriPark Strawberry Planting- FULL
    • Saturday, April 23 | 10 a.m. to noon | Fishers AgriPark (11171 Florida Rd., Fortville) | Great for families

  6. Cheeney Creek Cleanup & Garlic Mustard Pull
    • Saturday, April 23 |10 a.m. to noon| Cheeney Creek Natural Area (1030 Fishers Pointe Blvd., Fishers) | Great for families and groups
    • Volunteers will help spruce up the natural area by clearing branches, as well as removing invasive plants, debris and trash. All ages are welcome, but children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. Sign up at ThisIsFishers.com/KFB.
  7. Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve Weed Wrangle
    • Saturday, April 23 | 10 a.m. to noon | Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve (10410 Hague Rd., Fishers) | Great for families and groups
    • Help combat invasive species by pulling Mustard Seed throughout the park during this annual event. This opportunity is in partnership with Hamilton County Invasive Partnership’s Invasives Bucket Challenge. All ages are welcome, but children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.   8. Fishers AgriPark Tree Planting & Fence Building
    • Friday, April 29 | 10 a.m. to noon and noon to 2 p.m. | Fishers AgriPark (11171 Florida Rd., Fortville) | Great for families
    • Volunteers will plant 200 trees in honor of Arbor Day and assist with building a fence at the Fishers AgriPark. Two shifts are available, and all ages are welcome, but children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. Sign up at ThisIsFishers.com/KFB.
  9. Holland Park Helpers
    • Saturday, April 30 | 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. | Holland Park (1 Park Dr., Fishers) | Great for families and groups
    • Volunteers will help beautify the park by planting trees, mulching and planting landscaping beds, and removing litter. All ages are welcome, but children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. Sign up at ThisIsFishers.com/KFB.
  10. Keep Fishers Beautiful Blog Series
    • All month long
    • Meet residents and volunteers helping to keep our community beautiful with new blogs throughout the month at ThisIsFishers.com.
  11. Neighborhood Cleanup Kits
    • Available all year long
    • Fishers’ neighborhoods can beautify their common spaces and facades through the Neighborhood Cleanup Kit program (formerly Blitz Box), which includes a small supply of gloves, garbage bags, and the use of a 30-yard dumpster free of charge. Supplies are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. HOA representatives can complete an application here. 
  12. Fishers Stormwater Rain Barrel Program
    • Available all year long
    • Help protect our freshwater resources and take advantage of the free rain barrel program through Fishers Stormwater. First, take Clear Choices Clean Water Indiana’s water quality pledge, then submit your pledge with your rain barrel application.
  13. Adopt-a-Road
    • Available all year long
    • Organizations and individuals are invited to adopt a stretch of road by providing trash and litter pickup along Fishers’ streets. Learn more at ThisIsFishers.com/KFB.
