Johnny V. White

Johnny V. White, 63, Lapel, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family in Lapel following a brief battle of cancer.

He was born Oct. 20, 1958, in Nashville, Ark. to Doyle White and Queen (Bright) Waldon.

Mr. White graduated from high school in Nashville, Ark., and graduated from Bunker Hill Community College in Massachusetts.

He was currently working at the Roger Roudebush VA hospital in Indianapolis for the last four years as a Surgical Technologist. He previously worked at several other hospitals around the state for over twenty-five years.

He served his country in the United States Navy; he also played basketball in college at Arkansas Tech University; and the United States Navy; he was also a member of the American Legion; and he loved to cook and make Barbeque Sauce.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Jennifer White of Lapel; children, Rachel (Ben) Rhoton of Montpelier, Amanda Kopsho of Indianapolis, T.J. (Brittany) Swain of Anderson, Stephanie Valentin of Michigan, and John (Ashley) Mitchell of Mississippi; two brothers; four sisters; seven granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service is scheduled at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana with Grahame Wilson officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.

Military Rites will be performed by the Lapel American Legion Post 212.
