Nickel Plate Arts to Hire New Partnership Manager
Nickel Plate Arts is proud to announce that local teacher, actor and community volunteer Ryan Shelton is joining the staff as the organization’s Partnership Manager. This is a new position made possible through a partnership with the Indiana Arts Commission, which will focus on connecting Nickel Plate Arts’ local and regional partners with important resources and opportunities, including Indiana Arts Commission grants.
“We are thrilled to have Ryan join our team. His experiences as an educator, a member of the local theater community, and as an active Hamilton County resident will be invaluable as he helps us define this new role and connect all of our regional partners,” says Aili McGill, Nickel Plate Arts Executive Director. “Ryan’s passion for improving the world through art is unparalleled and is going to be a great asset to all of the organizations and artists who serve our community.”
Shelton’s career in the arts spans more than two decades. Shelton’s most recent experiences include serving as Artistic Director for both Improbable Fiction Theatre Company in Noblesville and Christian Youth Theater in Indianapolis, as well as teaching fourth graders at Indiana Connections Academy. Although Shelton is sad to leave behind his teammates and students in the classroom, he looks forward to working with them in news ways at Nickel Plate Arts. “I am excited and privileged to work with artists to help them make a positive impact in our communities,” he says.
