Aspire Indiana Health to Host Golf for Recovery at Plum Creek GC in Carmel Thursday, June 9th

Progress House will host its annual Golf for Recovery fundraiser on June 9 at a new location at Plum Creek Golf Club in Carmel. Proceeds will benefit Progress House, the state of Indiana’s oldest and largest recovery residence, which became part of Aspire Indiana Health in 2019.

The 10th Annual Jim Malarney Memorial Golf Outing is named after the beloved former board president, a longtime advocate on behalf of those battling the disease of addiction, who passed away in 2012.

It’s a fantastic day of golf and fellowship! Players can sign up as individuals or up to foursomes. Participants or sponsors can sign up at www.progresshouse.org/golf-for-recovery.

Founded in 1961 by a group of women and men who had recovered from alcoholism, Progress House is now located near Downtown Indianapolis in a facility housing up to 100 men. It also operates Next Step transitional apartments for those who have successfully completed treatment.

In 2019 Progress House merged with Aspire to innovate a new approach to treating addiction known as the Whole Health Recovery Continuum. Through this partnership, the structured behavioral health and long-term residential recovery program focuses on physical healing and mental transformation for a holistic recovery approach that includes:

  • Primary medical care
  • Behavioral health care
  • Group and individual counseling
  • 12-Step programming
  • Case management
  • Skills training
  • Medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
  • Peer support services
  • Recovery coaching
  • Employment services

All proceeds from Golf for Recovery will contribute to the programs and services that help to make recovery and whole health wellbeing a reality for Progress House residents.
