Cheryl Dale Shipp

Cheryl Dale Shipp, 78, of Carmel, passed away on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022 at IU Health North Hospital in Carmel.

She was born on May 18, 1944 to the late Ralph and Dorothy (McClister) Phillips in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mrs. Shipp graduated from Broad Ripple High School and received a Bachelor’s degree from Butler University. She received a Master’s in Counseling from CTS and a Master’s in Education from Butler. She was a retired licensed marriage & family therapist. Through her 35 years of private practice and her work in the church, Mrs. Shipp helped many individuals and families navigate their lives through healing and growth. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.

Survivors include her husband Travis Shipp; two daughters Laura (Bill) Haas and Kristen (Mark) Boice; two granddaughters Ali Boice and Kate Boice; and the companionship of her favorite dogs Abner & Gabby.

Visitation is scheduled to be held from 9-10 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial scheduled for 10 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oak Ridge Road, in Carmel. The Rev. Richard Doerr will officiate. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
