Michael John Formato

Michael John Formato, 60, of Noblesville, passed away on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on March 30, 1962 to Rocco and Kathryn (Weibler) Formato in Tampa, Fla.

Mr. Formato graduated from State University of NY (SUNY Binghamton) and received a Master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan. He served in the United States Naval Reserves and worked as an instructor for advanced automations and robotics for Ivy Tech and served as program chair for the School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Applied Science.

He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church of Noblesville. Mr. Formato loved restoring Corvettes and enjoyed traveling to the Smokies and Myrtle Beach.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years Julie Branca Formato; son Joseph (Chelsey) Formato; brother Joseph (Gen) Formato; sister Peggy (Barry) Brown; mother-in-law Marie Branca; sister-in-law Lisa (Duane) Payne; brother-in-law Bill (Caroline) Branca; sister-in-law Becky (Bernie) Tinus; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters Elsie Pierce, Elizabeth Wells and Janet Gloster.

Visitation is scheduled to be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a memorial service scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville.
