Adulting for Teens – Indiana 4H, Purdue Extension to Offer Life Lessons Program

Purdue Extension and Indiana 4-H are have announced the third offering of “Life Lessons” for 2023. This program is open to all high schoolers (grades 9-12) in Indiana.

This virtual, 8-week series of lessons will focus on topics that will have positive effects on youth as they grow into adulthood. This workshop series is based on the mission of Indiana 4-H to “provide real life educational opportunities that develop young people” at a state-wide level.

Through Google Classroom, topics will cover one-hour lessons on auto care, basics of budgeting, etiquette and people skills, food prep and safety, home care, online and social media safety, self-care and mental health, and celebrating what we’ve learned.

Youth will have follow-up activity after each lesson to reinforce learning, including one “virtual” component and one “off-screen” component. Guest speakers will join the lessons during various sessions to bring in expertise and provide youth the opportunity to connect with professionals.

Registration can be completed through v2.4HOnline.com. To register, create an account or sign in. The registration can be found under the Events tab.

The $30 registration fee covers the cost of all provided material, content, and supplies that will be sent to registrants. Financial assistance is available. Contact hendrces@purdue.edu for details or visit bit.ly/23lifelessons.
