Harold Walter Ambrose
December 31, 1944-December 5, 2022
Harold ‘Butch’ Walter Ambrose, 77, of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022.
He was born on Dec. 31, 1944 to Margaret Carrie and Harold William Ambrose, one of 5 children, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Mr. Ambrose worked in the Automobile business his entire adult life. He could be found working on cars both at home and at work. He loved working in the auto business. Family and friends mentioned retirement to him a few times and he was not ready to leave the business or his friends and co-workers at Auto King Automotive where he was co-owner for the past 17 years.
Mr. Ambrose’s passion for many years were his horses. Horseback riding on the weekends and camping with family and friends on horse riding trips were the times he looked most forward to.
His other passion in his life was his family. He loved unconditionally and he loved hard. Mr. Ambrose always let you know how special and loved you were.
There are many left behind who will feel this great loss and cherish the memories they have of him. Mr. Ambrose would want all of us to continue to live our best lives and to cherish each day.
Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 45 years Darlene Ambrose; daughter Margaret Lips; 2 granddaughters Macy Lips and Kaile Lips; step-son Lee Lawless; 2 step-grandsons Daniel Lawless and David Lawless; step-daughter Charmaine Lawless; and brothers Rick (Carolyn) Ambrose and Howard (Becky) Ambrose and their children.
Preceding him in death were his parents; 2 sisters; many great friends, including best friend Larry Moore, who probably has the horses saddled and ready to ride.
Visitation is scheduled to be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, 2022 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville.
