Linda Lou Eiler Whisman

Linda Lou Eiler Whisman, 85, of Lapel, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville after a brief illness.

She was born on March 22, 1937, in Lapel to Harold and Loretha (Edwards) Eiler.

Mrs. Whisman graduated from Lapel High School in 1955. She married Marvin Neal Whisman on August 20, 1955 and they were married for 66 years. She resided with her husband in Lapel her entire life.

As a homemaker, Mrs. Whisman raised three children and was a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active member of the community. She was a lifetime member of Ford Street United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Lapel Community Association.

Mrs. Whisman enjoyed attending Lapel High School basketball games. She was a proud Bulldog. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and sharing her famous peanut brittle at Christmas.

Survivors include her husband Neal Whisman; 2 daughters Luanne Julian of Middletown and Teri (Phil) Curnutt of Arcadia; son Todd (Polly) Whisman of Lapel; sister Joyce (Ron) Nunley of Lapel; brother Charles Eiler of Noblesville; 9 grandchildren Tyler (Jessica) Curnutt, Trisha (David) Booth, Carrie (Joey) Cooper, Molly (Brian) Bergman, Jessica (Scott) Melhop, Kyle (Katie) Morin, Maddie Whisman, Rylee Inholt and Tommy Inholt; 12 great-grandchildren Brayden Curnutt, Logan Curnutt, Audrey Cooper, Addison Cooper, Cadynce Curnutt, Ada Cooper, Baylee Curnutt, Macy Booth, Brooks Bergman, Eli Booth, Noah Booth and Wren Bergman

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Harold “Bud” Eiler.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main St., Lapel with the Rev. Glenn Knepp officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled to run from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
