Take A Vintage Warbird Flight Through Thursday
The public can come aboard vintage warbirds during a Commemorative Air Force Warbird Expo today and Thursday at the Hamilton County-owned Indianapolis Executive Airport in Zionsville.
Rides are being taken on the celebrated paratroop transport “That’s All, Brother,” the very aircraft that led the Airborne Invasion of Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944. Accompanied by two other historic World War II planes, all three are noteworthy for their level of restoration and historic importance, and will be hosted by Jet Access (formerly First Wing Jet Center).
The public is invited to enjoy onboard tours or take a Living History Flight Experience.
Flying times are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today (Wednesday) and Thursday. Warbird flights start at $199 for a seat on a PT-26 trainer, $100 for a seat on a two-engine Navy transport, $275 for a paratroopers’ seat in the paratrooper transport and $380 for a seat in the SNJ trainer.
