Fishers Police Arrest – Auto Theft And Resisting Law Enforcement

Fishers Police arrested four juveniles for breaking into vehicles in the Napleton KIA of Fishers parking lot, 13417 Britton Park Road in Fishers.

Officers were dispatched to Britton Park Road on Sunday, August 6, at approximately 5:00 am. Napleton KIA has a security video monitoring system on the property and the Hamilton County Communications Center was notified of several subjects breaking into vehicles.  Officers arrived in the area to investigate and observed one suspect running north across the property.  At the same time, officers observed a black 2014 Kia Soul exit the parking lot.

Officers set a perimeter to locate the suspect on foot.  Officers completed an area search, utilized a K-9 Unit, and a drone but did not locate the suspect.  Other officers observed the black KIA Soul flee northbound on SR 37 traveling in the southbound lanes and initiated a pursuit.  The suspect vehicle crossed the median before turning south in the southbound lanes near Greenfield Avenue in Noblesville. Officers deployed tire deflation devices on SR 37.  The suspect vehicle continued south and crashed near SR 37/I-69 near 116th Street.  Four suspects fled from the vehicle on foot.

The driver was taken into custody shortly after exiting the vehicle. Officers from the Fishers Police Department and Noblesville Police Department set a perimeter to search the area.  Three suspects were located hiding in the same trash dumpster.  A Noblesville K-9 Unit assisted with apprehension.  All three suspects were taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.

The black 2014 KIA Soul was stolen from a residence in Indianapolis. Officers identified six (6) damaged vehicles in the Napleton KIA of Fishers parking lot.  Two vehicles had smashed windows and five of the vehicles had interior damage including damage to the steering column/ignition switch.
