Smile: 2569 Avery Koons
What makes Avery Koons smile? “Selling Fall Treats.” The 9-year-old, a Noblesville home-schooled fourth-grader, was found with sisters Evelyn, 6, and Annalee, 8, selling “Fall Treats” at their homemade food stand in their neighborhood. They sold caramel corn, caramel apples and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, all homemade by the sisters. Their menu board was handwritten, and their treats were packaged beautifully on the fall-decorated table. The girls are the daughters of Jason and Jill Koons; Jason is from Anderson (graduated Anderson Highland High School) and Jill is from Crown Point. Avery’s favorite school activity? “Reading.” What else does she like to do? “I like to ride my bike. When it’s raining outside, I watch TV sometimes and play on my iPad.” She has taken gymnastics lessons. Avery took a break from the Fall Treats stand to cuddle with her 8-week-old puppy, Chapman (above). “We call him Chap Chap or Chappie,” she said. “He is a Mini Double Doodle,” a cross between a mini Labradoodle (Labrador Retriever/Standard Poodle) and a mini Goldendoodle (Golden Retriever/Standard Poodle).
