Elks Offer Patriotism Contest for School Kids

“What Does Patriotism Mean To Me?”

That’s the topic the Elks are using for a contest for grade school kids with a chance to win cash awards.

The contest starts with the local Elks Lodges and progresses through District and State levels. It ends with the naming of our National Winners at the Grand Lodge Session in Kansas City, Missouri in July 2025.

This contest gives students in four separate grade levels, grades fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth, the opportunity to thoughtfully, evaluate and express their views on “What Does Patriotism Mean To Me?”

Nationally, first-place, second-place and third-place authors in each division will receive monetary awards of $1,000, $500, and $250 respectfully.

Noblesville Elks Lodge #576, West Central District and Indiana Elks Association also provide various forms of recognition to their respective winners.  These encourage 10–13-year-old students to thoughtfully consider American values and appreciate the blessings and responsibilities of citizenship.

Judging will be based on:

Four separate divisions for 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th grade students.

Awards for each grade Level.

All teachers are encouraged to contact [email protected] for application, rules or with questions.
