Emmanuel United Methodist Church

Hello,

My name is Jesse Mullins.  I am the appointed pastor at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Noblesville.  I have been the pastor at Emmanuel UMC since July 1st of 2023.  Prior to my appointment at Emmanuel UMC, I was the pastor for Cicero United Methodist Church from July 1st of 2020 through June 30th of 2023.  Prior to Cicero, I served as an associate pastor at Christ United Methodist Church on the southside of Indianapolis from January 1st of 2017 to July 1st of 2020.  I am an ordained elder within The United Methodist Church.  I have been married to my wife, Danita, for over 18 years.  We have three children together, Jameson, Jenevieve, and Jefferson.  I was recently blessed to have published my first ever book, a daily devotional, called “Daily

Reflections: A Lectionary Journey”.  I believe that a congregation is a family of believers that extends beyond the walls of our homes and churches to reach out into our community.  When we love God, love people, and serve the world in God’s love, we build lasting relationships that have a Kingdom impact!  I also love kayaking and fishing year-round!

I have two favorites when it comes to Scripture.

The first is Ephesians 4:15-16. “But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head – Christ. From him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building up itself in love by the proper working of each individual part.”  These verses emphasize the importance of speaking the trust in love and the unity of the body of Christ. This passage highlights the idea of growth and maturity within a community, encouraging us to support one another and work together harmoniously.  I believe my fondness for this scripture stems from its focus on fostering healthy relationships, promoting honesty, and encouraging collaboration.

It speaks to the value of love and truth in communication, which has resonated deeply in my life, calling me to prioritize meaningful connections and personal growth in my faith and community.  The imagery of the body working together is inspiring, as it uplifts the significance of each person’s role in contributing to a greater purpose.

The second is Romans 12:2. “Do not be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”  Romans

12:2 has become a favorite of mine due to its message about transformation and renewal. The verse encourages us to not conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This call to change emphasizes the importance of inner growth and spiritual development. This resonates deeply with me, as I seek to live a life aligned with my values and faith.  The verse also points to the significance of discernment in understanding God’s will, giving direction and purpose in life.  I am constantly inspired by this verse, as I am called to actively participate in my transformation!  Romans

12:2 is all about our faith journey! I am encouraged to embrace change and seek a deeper understanding of my purpose according to God’s will.

At Emmanuel UMC, we strive to welcome all in acceptance and love. Our desire is to build meaningful relationships among those within our diverse community. We offer one Sunday Worship Service featuring an inspiring and relevant message, and a blend of traditional and contemporary music with a variety of instruments and voices. Before and after the Worship Service, our two Christian Education Hours provide opportunities for infants through adults to learn and grow in love of God and neighbor. Our mission and vision has revolved around our “Family Prayer” for the last year: “Lord, help us remember that we are a family that learns and grows together. Help us break through the limitations of this world to seek our dreams, aligned with God’s will, of becoming a place where the needs of our community are met, where relationships are built, and where Jesus Christ remains our heart. Amen.”
