John Lowes Kicks off Sheriff Bid
Hamilton County Chief Deputy John Lowes officially launched his campaign for Sheriff at a kickoff event held last week in Carmel. The event drew an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, showcasing strong community backing for Lowes’ candidacy.
Lowes has earned the endorsement of current two-term Sheriff Dennis Quakenbush, who expressed his confidence in Lowes’ ability to lead. Sheriff Quakenbush stated, “Having served alongside John throughout my term as your sheriff, Chief Deputy Lowes is the clear choice to continue to lead and expand the protection and safety we cherish in Hamilton County.”
Appointed as Chief Deputy by Quakenbush in 2019, Lowes has led a team of 250 dedicated men and women committed to maintaining the safety and security of Hamilton County. With 26 years of experience in law enforcement, Lowes has consistently demonstrated a tough-on-crime approach. He is dedicated to defending the community against violence, drugs, and human trafficking while collaborating with local leaders to address critical mental health issues.
Lowes brings 15 years of executive-level leadership experience, a degree in Business Management and is a proud alumnus of the Police Executive Leadership graduate program at the Southern Police Institute. This extensive background equips him to oversee the multi-million-dollar Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office budget with efficiency, transparency, and responsibility.
“I am running for Sheriff because I believe we can create an even safer, more united community by embracing a vision of law enforcement rooted in trust, transparency, and accountability,” Lowes stated during the event. “Hamilton County has a well-earned reputation as one of the safest communities in the nation, and I am confident we can build on this legacy to make it an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.”
The campaign’s tagline, “Lowes Knows Safety,” underscores Lowes’ commitment to protecting Hamilton County. His campaign website, LowesForSheriff.com, provides additional information about his platform and vision for the future.
As the campaign moves forward, Lowes encourages all Hamilton County residents to join him in building a stronger, safer, and more united community. “Together, we will keep Hamilton County safe,” he concluded.
