Sen. Walker Shares Results of Crime Guns Task Force
| Sen. Walker Shares Results of Crime Guns Task Force In 2021, I sponsored House Enrolled Act 1558, which established the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force (ICGTF) to address violent crime around Indiana. ICGTF works in cooperation with state and federal officials to trace firearms used to commit crimes. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department recently released the findings of 2024, which found that ICGTF investigated around 150 leads, resulting in the arrest of 232 people. The investigations also led to the seizure of more than 270 illegal firearms and 75,507 grams of illegal narcotics. Of the 232 arrests made, 16 individuals were charged federally for firearms-narcotics-related offenses. The ICGTF is made up of the Fishers Police Department, Lawrence Police Department, Avon Police Department, Beech Grove Police Department, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Zionsville Police Department, Indiana State Police, the Marion County Forensic Services Agency, Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, United States Attorney’s Office and the Southern District of Indiana. |
