‘Geezers’ Opens Thursday at Basile Westfield Playhouse

Beat the January blues and come laugh at the Basile Westfield Playhouse Thursday. The first show of the 2025 season, Geezers by Tommy Lee Johnston, is a funny, heartwarming drama about growth and wisdom, learning and loving, life and death.

Produced by Main Street Productions, Inc., Geezers will introduce you to some beautiful and wonderful old people who are enjoying their golden years in a retirement home. Jack, a pathologically shy, 27-year-old man, begins a job there helping the seniors with their daily needs. But it’s the “geezers” who wind up helping Jack with his needs. On his road to an epiphany, Jack learns to crawl—then walk, then fly—with a wise group of mentors guiding him along.

Don’t miss out on tickets for Thursday’s opening night for just $10. Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office just before curtain or online at westfieldplayhouse.org/showstickets. The show runs through Feb. 16.

Director Lori Raffel has assembled a talented cast composed of stage veterans, local favorites, and new faces. Lori is also excited to announce that the playwright, Tommy Lee Johnston, will travel from Chicago and attend the show opening weekend!

Catch Geezers at the Basile Westfield Playhouse, 220 N. Union St. in the heart of downtown Westfield. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees begin at 2:30 p.m. The theater opens one hour prior to curtain, and concessions will be available for purchase before curtain and during intermission.
