21 Choirs to Perform At NHS Competition

Noblesville High School’s Choral Department is excited to be a host for NHS’s second Indiana Show Choir Championships on Saturday at Noblesville High School.

The community can join these choirs for a full day celebrating the excellence of high school show choir in the state that started it all.

NHS choir directors John Neubauer and Julianne Fowler are helping bring this competition to NHS  where 18 choirs from nine schools will compete all day long with awards in the evening. Plus three NHS show choirs will perform exhibition shows at various times throughout the day, which runs from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Awards will be at 2:10 p.m. and 10:40 p.m.
“It is wonderful for the choir community in Noblesville to host this event gathering great choirs from all over the state,” Neubauer said. “We share our hospitality and show them the community and class that encompasses the musical community in Noblesville.”

NHS expects more than 800 high school students, plus an additional more than 1,500 adults from around Indiana to attend. Plus a lot of show choir singers who still live in the area and folks in the community who are interested in watching these show choirs are expected to attend. The event is open to the public.

A pancake and sausage breakfast made by Noblesville Kiwanis Sunrisers and served up by NHS choir volunteers. Food will be available all day.

There will be small univoice, large univoice, small mixed and large mixed show choirs that hail from Anderson Prep High School, Ben Davis, Bishop Luers, Brownsburg, Carroll, Franklin Community, New Castle, Northridge and Warren Central.
Noblesville High School show choirs – NHS Singers, New Dimension and Sensation — will perform exhibition shows during the Championships. The NHS Singers, the school’s oldest show choir, has been a key component of the NHS Choral Music community since the 1970s.

Gaylor Electric stepped up again for the second year as Indiana Show Choir Championships’ Presenting Sponsor. Plus Noblesville’s George Kristo is again a Gold Sponsor. There are many other sponsors and supporters for this event, including The Times.

Tickets are $20 for the full day and available at the door.
