HH 6th Graders Win Title
The 6th grade Lady Huskies basketball team fought their way to victory at the 2025 Husky Invitational recently. The team showcased their incredible talent and teamwork in two outstanding games.
In the first matchup against Frankton, they worked together seamlessly to establish an early lead and held strong for a well-earned victory. The championship game against Western was a battle from start to finish. With only a one-point lead at halftime, the girls came back with focus and intensity, demonstrating their unity and resilience to secure the Championship title!
“From the very beginning, we knew that reaching our goal of winning the Championship would require hard work and commitment,” said Head Coach Laurie Prater. “The girls embraced the challenge, dedicating six days a week to practice, pushing themselves to improve every single day. Their determination paid off in the best way possible!”
“We couldn’t have done it without the energy and support of our amazing 6th-grade cheerleaders and the incredible fans who cheered us on every step of the way,” she added. “Their encouragement helped fuel our team’s determination until the final buzzer.”
Prater said this season has been an absolute joy for the coaches. “Taylor and I have had the privilege of coaching most of these girls since 2nd grade, with the exception of last year when we moved up to coach 6th grade,” she explained. “Having them back on our team, along with getting to know the new players, has made for an incredible season filled with growth, dedication, and fun.”
“I’m beyond proud of all 14 girls and can’t wait to see them finish the season strong in our final two games,” noted Prater.
