Letter Suggests Changing Seating Arrangement in Congress

Dear Editor,

I wish there was a huge mailbox that politicians must access before receiving their paychecks.

This is what I would send.

Dear United States Senator or Representative of the U.S. House:

As an American citizen, I would like to share my view of what I saw on TV, March 4, 2025.

Current Seating Chart of Joint Sessions-

[Democrats——-(AISLE)——-Republicans]

I propose a NEW mandatory seating chart

      Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep

      Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep

      Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep

      Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep-Dem-Rep

If we can’t even sit next to one another, then how can we learn to work together?

If we don’t get this right, then what of our children???

I wonder what would have happened if Jesus himself had walked down that aisle?

Please consider extending an olive branch to one another (instead of disdain and hate), if only to one person at a time. God has a “party” all His own, and he welcomes each one of us as peacemakers.

Respectfully submitted and by God’s Grace,

Rev. Bonnie Zickgraf
