About the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation
Since its founding in 1967, the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation has led the charge in funding groundbreaking IBD research and improving patient care. 88,000 healthcare professionals rely on our resources, and we have funded 2,500+ research projects to date.
The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation – Indiana Chapter invites the community to join Take Steps Indiana on Saturday, June 14 at Conner Prairie. This impactful walk is more than a fundraiser—it’s a movement to support the nearly 1 in 100 Americans living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
As those living with Crohn’s disease know firsthand, there are daily challenges that come with IBD. That’s why Take Steps Indiana is so important—not just for raising funds, but for building a supportive community for patients and caregivers.
More than 66,000 new cases of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are diagnosed annually in the U.S., with over 100,000 children under 20 affected. These chronic illnesses have no cure, and 70 percent of Crohn’s patients require surgery during their lifetime. The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation has invested over $500 million in research, but won’t stop until a cure is found.
“Take Steps is a chance to show every patient and caregiver that they are not alone in this fight,” said Tatijana Narwold, Crohn’s & Colitis Indiana Chapter Executive Director. “It’s about community, hope, and taking real steps toward a future without IBD.”
