Embrace The Ruck Everyone

Are you ready to embrace the ruck? Trail Life Troop IN-1685 and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office are.

The ruck is a 5K or a 4-Hour Endurance Ruck where individuals walk as far as possible within the time limit while carrying a ruck sack – symbolizing the daily physical weight officers carry in the field during their shifts.

The course itself is a one-mile loop and allows participants to pass through the start / finish line as often as possible.

To be clear, this is an endurance event and is designed so that all ages can recharge when needed. Each registered family will get a 10×10 foot space to set up a canopy / chairs and have space for coolers and other items they might need.

There will be all sorts of ages and fitness levels present. The two rules that are most important though are to carry a rucksack and to count your miles. Be sure to bring your own rucksack (backpack) and load it up with 10 percent of your body weight.

The 5k Trail Ruck will begin at 9 a.m. and should be completed by 9:50 a.m. The Endurance Ruck begins at 10 a.m.

The fee for the 5K is $35 and the fee for the 4-Hour Endurance Ruck is $50. You can register at https://raceroster.com/events/2025/100522/endurance-ruck.
