Sen. Walker Shares Update
Indiana’s Medicaid program is intended to help our most vulnerable Hoosiers. However, over the last four years, state General Fund spending on the program has increased by $5 billion.
These cost increases have impacted the state’s ability to fund other important budget needs like K-12 education. That’s why Senate Republicans prioritized Senate Enrolled Act 2 this year, which aims to get Medicaid spending under control by creating a more fiscally responsible program and ensuring only those who qualify for the program benefit from it.
Ensuring Indiana runs the Medicaid program with fiscal integrity is critical in order to protect the program for those who truly need it.
