Ministry Technologist to Host Free Workshop

Ministry technologist David J. Swisher, an ordained minister and author of Early Warning: How to Lead with Wisdom in Times of Technological Disruption, will lead a free workshop for pastors, ministry staff, and church leaders on Saturday, April 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Community Center at Noblesville Schools, 1775 Field Dr.

Titled “Navigating Technology Disruption in Ministry,” the workshop is designed to help pastors and ministry leaders respond thoughtfully and proactively to the rapid technological changes already reshaping church life. Topics will include the ministry impact of AI, digital communication, hybrid ministry realities, changing patterns of engagement, and the leadership questions that come with technological disruption.

“Technology disruption is no longer a future issue for the Church. It is already here,” said Swisher. “This workshop is meant to help pastors and church leaders think clearly, respond wisely, and lead proactively rather than reactively.”

Swisher currently serves as the Director of Online Services at Kingswood University and regularly does AI training and consulting. He is an ordained minister with more than three decades of bivocational ministry experience, including service as a pastor, co-pastor, church planter, youth leader, and summer missionary, while also working in educational technology at several universities – Indiana Wesleyan University, Tabor College, and Kansas State University.

His book, Early Warning: How to Lead with Wisdom in Times of Technological Disruption (Invite Resources, 2025) was written to help pastors and ministry leaders navigate disruptive technologies with practical wisdom, ethical clarity, and strategic insight. Copies will be available for purchase and signing following the workshop. The event is free to attend, though registration is requested to help organizers plan well.
