Fishers Fire, EMS Chiefs Take Home Top Awards
Fishers Fire Chief Steven Orusa and EMS Division Chief Steve Davison have been awarded the Indiana Fire Chiefs Association “Presidents Award” and EMS Officer of the Year,” respectively.
Chief Orusa actively participates in the promotion of safety for firefighters across Indiana as well as enhancing the capabilities of fire departments across the state through legislation and partnerships. He is often called upon to speak in front of state lawmakers as a subject matter expert. His efforts continue to promote the safety and well-being of our state and have been recognized by Chief Sink, IAFC President and the Association.
Community Paramedicine continues to evolve and Chief Davison continues to be in the forefront of what that looks like. One of the first departments to put Community Paramedicine in place in the State of Indiana, Chief Davison works tirelessly with partnering medical agencies, other fire and EMS departments, Homeland Security, insurance companies and companies that aid the elderly to develop programs to enhance care for patients globally. His dedication to the evolution of patient care and needs has recognized him as a leader in the state for Emergency Medical Services.
Both were recognized at the annual Indiana Emergency Response Conference dinner last Friday in Indianapolis.
