Smile
What makes Sue Jourdan smile? “Taking something old and freshening it up, repurposing it. I love working with painting and antiques and doing things on the creative edge,” said the 68-year-old Noblesville resident. She lives in an old house in Old Town Noblesville. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, and raised there for a short time and then moved to Detroit because her dad transferred his job. Sue and her late husband, Bill Jourdan, moved here in 1986 from Detroit when Bill joined the Noblesville Police Department. She’s an interior designer and graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit and has been in the design business for more than 30 years. She has two children, Jennifer and Christine, and one grandchild, Spacely Finister, whose name came from Spacely Sprockets on The Jetsons’ popular animated television sitcom from the early 1960s. She founded and is co-chair with Jennie Auble of the Red Geranium Artisan Market, in its eighth year in 2023 and which raises money for charities. She loves old houses. Her house in 2021 was on the Noblesville Preservation Alliance Historic Home Tour, which is annually in September. The community may sit in on the Noblesville Preservation Alliance’s annual meeting from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. this Sunday at Preservation Hall, 1274 Logan St., Noblesville, with refreshments at 4 p.m., followed by awards at 5 p.m.
