Former Senator Jim Merritt joins Jaworowski campaign as chair
Former State Senator Jim Merritt has been named Campaign Chair for Suzie Jaworowski and her team as she runs for State Representative in District 32. The newly drawn district includes southern Carmel, western and downtown Fishers, and a small portion of northern Indianapolis.
In his role, Merritt will lead the team in strategic planning, campaign implementation and fundraising. Merritt brings more than 30 years of political and consulting experience to the Jaworowski campaign. He served as an Indiana State Senator from 1990 to 2020 and held the position of caucus chairman for 16 years.
“Suzie is a bold leader with a true servant’s heart,” said Merritt. “She shares the conservative values and beliefs that have strengthened Indiana. She will listen to her constituents and ask the questions that are important to people. She will fight for parental involvement in education, fully funding police, low taxes, gun ownership rights, and pro-life policies. I am honored to work with Suzie Jaworowski and committed to supporting her as she works for the people of District 32.”
Jaworowski welcomed Merritt to her team saying, “I’m blessed to have Senator Merritt leading our team. His experience, his knowledge and his proven record of forward-thinking public service will provide us with insight and guidance that is invaluable.”
