Charlotte (Sherry) Grace (Hays) Burgess

Charlotte (Sherry) Grace (Hays) Burgess, 82, died June 12, 2023 at John Muir Hospital, Walnut Creek, Calif.

She was born Jan. 26, 1941 in Lisle, Ill., the daughter of John L. and Aleece (Stanley) Hays.

Sherry graduated from Noblesville High School in 1959.

She married Jim Burgess and they resided in Concord, Calif. for many years. Jim died in 1991.

Sherry loved to travel and visit friends and family. Music was always a part of Sherry’s life. Sherry was quite a piano player and enjoyed sharing that with others. Everyone remembers Sherry with a big, warm smile on her face.

Survivors include one sister; Patricia A. (Hays) Mullins and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister; Mary Jane H. Cook and 4 brothers; Lowell Hayes, William Hayes, Deke Hays and Don Hayes.

No service is planned. Burial will be in Lane, Kansas.
